Hey everyone, I'm a newbie here.

In a few days I'll be leaving to teach English in Chile through the English Opens Doors program. I'm fresh out of college, certified in English Adolescence Education (in the United States) and this will be my first real-world teaching experience. I've desired to live outside of The United States for a very long time and so I am currently trying to form a plan for how I might be able to do so after my contract is up (assuming that I enjoy. I've had my eye on a few schools in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay specifically....

Do any of you know what the turnover rate is like with Private/International schools is like? For that matter, would someone with my amount of experience even stand a chance? If not, what would some other alternatives be? I've read a great deal of blogs/testimonials of people that work freelance for months at a time but I would want to be looking for something more secure and more permanent than that.

Any help at all will be appreciated.

Depends a lot on the school. Good schools will be able to retain teachers for years and decades, bad ones will have them leave after a semestre, if they're lucky and don't pull midnight runs.
