I got a wonderful e-mail from Dewey saying they thought I met their requirements for "certified teachers." I was excited, and I do have plenty years of experience in a number of places. I've taught children and teenagers. So I applied.
I fully believe I can successfully teach ESL in a Taiwanese public school.
If you've done this; what is the salary like? What is the job like? How many hours do you have to work? How is your morale? What are working conditions, holiday entitlement, and Chinese teachers like to work with? Is it worth the candle if you're certified?
But I am not sure whether Dewey (or the suspicious Kuomintang Party) will let me teach there?
I think they want someone who teaches English lit. to English people in the U.K. I'm an ESL teacher! |
