Hello!

I'm moving to Santiago at the end of February in hopes of teaching English and intend on staying for at least 6 months. I was just wondering how long the process of finding an apartment would be and if it will be a problem that I do not have a working visa or residency. Also, since I don't have a job yet, I would like to find something a bit cheaper without compromising safety too much (I'm a girl living alone). If anyone has any advice that would be helpful or knows any neighborhoods that would be good to live in, I would appreciate the input!

compartodepto is horrible for finding apartments. Go through ContactChile like everyone else and rent a room until you can find a Chilean roommate to sign the papers for an apartment.
