Shot in the dark, since there don't seem to be too many people here who've even been to the part of Turkey I'm now in, but does anybody know if there are any good schools in Kahramanmaraş? It's a lovely little city and an Anatolian Tiger, and I'd like to include it in the list of cities with schools I apply to, but only if there's decent schools. (I had to rule out Konya, for example, because people on this forum have nothing good to say about any of its schools.)

Thanks,
~Q

You should call yourself Odysseus or Jason given the length and variety of your quest for employment in asia minor.

There is Kipas Schools in Kahramanmaras, which opened its door not too long ago (maybe like 5 years?). Other than that, I'm not sure if there is anything else really. It's a cute, small city and has amazing ice cream and friendly people Smile

There is really not much at all in offer in teaching jobs in this small Turkish city. Most EFL jobs you find are with small private or government schools teaching kids offering about Turkish Lira 1,000/MonthlyHowever if you come here as a tourist the city's restaurants offer excellent kebabs, turkish sweets and turkish coffee! Accomodation is not bad either see Lonely Planet Guide for cheap hostels in the area.
