If someone has a teaching certificate from their native country do you:

1. Have to bring the original or will an electronic copy do?
2. Do you have to have it notarized or apostilled? or
3. Do the various countries (SA, Oman, etc.) verify its authenticity (by contacting the issuing authority for example)?
4. Neither #s 2 or 3? You bring it, they look at it and do a visual test and send you on your way?

The different countries have slight variations on the theme. It invariably ends up costing you money and time. Most of them now require that copies of the certificates be certified/notarized/apostilled - whatever you want to call it. Then you normally give those to the employer - either before you go or after you arrive - and they usually then look at your originals after you arrive. The employers making you an offer will inform you of what paperwork needs to go through this process.

But, of course... never give any employer your originals. It is such a hassle getting them replaced.
