A friend has asked me about this gig as he has a PGCE and is fed up of UK state schools, as I am pretty much out of the business these days I was wondering if anyone could shed any light.

Any and all donations gratefully received.

Good Luck.

I saw that role, the pay is horrendous!!!

1000 plus 500LD? A month??

With things as they are at the moment, I think any military/police operation I'd steer clear of!!!

Absolutely, TT, when my friend asked me about the post it turns out he misread the terms and thought it was 1000 A WEEK. IMHO, given the circumstances, this is a far more appropriate sum.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply and all the best with your career.

Good Luck.

Once again the venerable scot47 has hit the nail squarely on the head. In fact the current Middle East employment situation features in the latest episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' entitled 'The Peanuts and Monkeys Correlation'. Enjoy.

Good Luck.

Shameful. It's even more shamefeul than those adverts for TEFLers in Basra at a pathetic $2600 per month. How can you expect anyone to go and work for that kind of chickenfeed, in a still-dangerous country, teaching people in uniform who are bound to be targets for one disgruntled group or another. And yet, as I write this, people will be firing off their CVs in hope of landing the position there...

You can make over 8 an hour working in a Tesco call-centre these days. Better to brush up on your telephone manner than suffer in a post-war hellhole!
