Hi all,

Got two friends in HK,so I may tentatively have a place to stay Laughing

Due to the insane job situation in the eurozone, and as I got 6 years in China under my belt, what are my chances for picking up work in HK, hitting the ground running?

cheers
Al

That would be http://www.classifiedpost.com/

I don't think you'd have any problem getting a job, but if you move in the middle of a school year chances are you'll end up in a mill - and likely one of those that has trouble retaining staff (hence hiring at odd times during the year). If you have the intestinal fortitude to hack such a job for your first year, it will give you the chance to look around, network, and find a job that's a good fit for you - assuming you didn't luck out the first time around.

Just make sure you bring enough money to last you until you get a job and the work visa comes through - there are enough dodgy places in HK mill-land that will promise you a visa, have you start working - and then you haven't a legal leg to stand on when they refuse to pay you (and never even bothered putting in the visa application).
