Oops. just posted this in the Russia and CIS sub-forum. Is this sub-forum new?
Hi there.
I'm interested in doing some local hikes around Kyiv. Most of the information I've found on the internet seems to describe long hikes in the Carpathians and what not but I'm just interested in day hikes in the Kyiv area.
Does anyone know any companies that organise hikes or point me in the directions of any further information that would allow me to do independent hikes?
Cheers |

Hi babar6789,
I had the same question two years ago and ended up finding the solution by accident. I went walking on the outskirts of Obolon near the main ring road that circles Kiev and stumbled across a forest, which I thought at the time was small but infact is enormous and I got lost After finding my way back home before running out of water and food I went to Petrovka market and bought a map of kiev and a compass. This area is great and different areas can be explored every time. |
