|
|
I am hoping to teach English. I have contacted a few schools in Thailand about jobs. However I can't find anyone who can tell me what exactly I need to be a legal teacher over there though.
I should have my non-immigrant B visa complete by about 20th October. I think I also need a teacher's licence and a Thai work permit though. I'm not sure how to get these, do you know how to? And can I start teaching without them and get them after I have started teaching?
Really appreciate any help, thank you

IF you can find a job (required to get a non-b) then you enter and your employer applies for your conditional teaching license and work permit.
You need a degree and transcript or your application will be denied by the TCT.
The TCT takes about a week to process your paperwork for conditional permission to work as a teacher. The labor office can take 4-6 weeks more before you get your actual work permit in your hands.
If you are not from one of: UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, NZ or Australia then you need to add a TOEIC/IELTS score (600/5.5) to your list of requirements.
Depending on where you are applying for your non-b you may also need a police check from your home country as well.
You will also need a medical done in Thailand before you can get the W/P.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I am from the UK. I do need to get a police check and have applied for it now.
Thank you for the information on the Labour office. So while they take 4-6 weeks to get my work permit I can teach? The conditional permission is sort of a temporary work permit till the real thing?
Thanks again for your help buddy.
Regards
