I've just been offered a position in Al Ain, UAE. As the school year has already started, they are wanting me to fly as soon as possible knowing my documents are not yet authenticated. The school suggests having my family take care of this process and then mailing the documents when everything is finished.

Is this something that others have gone through? Will it cause any issues?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me!

I recommend you to pay an agency to carry out this task for you. They will take care of the authentication and send the completed documents to the school in Al Ain. Where do you currently live? I used an agency in London called Argentum. The fees are slightly on the expensive side, but it saves you the headache of getting your family members to run from one office to another.

The delay of the documents does mean that you'll be coming into the UAE on a tourist visa, however depending on how long it'll take your employers will have to apply for your permit as soon as the authentication is completed.

Thanks for your recommendation! I'm living in the US so I can certainly look for something here. I just recently went through an agent for another job that didn't work out. They weren't very efficient about submitting or returning my documents so I suppose I may be a bit leery to take that route. However, I'll spend sometime this evening and see what I can dig up unless someone can recommend an agent.

Whatever the case, I appreciate your help and input. It makes things a bit clearer.

I did mine in the States and combined a trip to DC. Since you are short on time and really can't have your family traveling around (and the FedEx/UPS charges are ridiculous) just do it here.

PM me and let me know where you are teaching.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo....I hope you are ready for an adventure!

I had family do the authentication, envelopes inside of envelopes and it went on up the ladder from county to state to federal, and sent it all by FedEx. It's not a big deal, considering you get a paycheck in the end, so why go cheap on authentication? The FedEx will probably be cheaper than having an agency do it.

In the U.S. you can use this service. https://www.uslegalization.com/ Don't send your original diploma because no matter how carefully you package it they will fold it and treat it like a fish wrapper.
