I have the opportunity to come to Mexico City as early as the first week in November, but am wondering if I would be better off waiting to come in January in terms of landing a job. Any thoughts?

There won't be any openings until early or mid January....with next to nothing opening in November. That said, being here in November is good to make connections, find a place to live, etc, etc.

Also, if you plan to learn some Spanish, you could spend the time studying and practicing, learning how to get around on public transportation and other things that will just generally make your life easier once you start working.
