Just a quick post to any teachers who have been based in Madrid for a number of years. I've lived there on a few occasions and speak fluent Spanish, but it has been 3 years since my last stint .
Thinking of approaching my old employer and moving back in September but first a few questions. How are things for an English teacher at the moment? How does the whole package compare with the past? How does the current work situation compare with recent years (or the 80's for that matter)? How has the crisis changed things for the English teacher? What about hours and wage rates? Has anyone seen a change? And accommodation? Is that any cheaper now el ladrillo is in the toilet?
