I have accepted a job at a Turkish university, and it seems like it's taking a long time to get education ministry approval. Apparently it's not just me; the school says 4 other expat employees are waiting, as well.
Information about work visas and education ministry timetables varies so widely on these pages and the Internet in general that I'm curious about whether other people have had recent experience with this issue. |

Larry, You are simply experiencing "Turkish time". Do not let some of the other visa posts shake you. There is A LOT of wiggle room and time frames are simply suggestions, not hard & fast rules here. If you are employed at a legitimate Turkish University, it will happen, eventually. It depends on too many circumstances to list here. And with the Ba yram holiday coming up things will slow even more. There will be no Police raids, deportation proceedings, or Turkish prison in your future, I can assure you. The only suggestion I can offer is to politely prod them occasionally for updates.
Amazingly things always seem to work out here! |
