Hello there fellow teachers,

Currently in Bangkok and considering applying for WSI. Wondering if you have any info / experience with them? Had some friends work for them in Jakarta and they seemed to enjoy it and the company. Any info is greatly appreciated.

It would be better to work at an actual school. Some positions don't look at places like Berlitz, Wall Street, ECC etc as teaching experience.

I've never worked at these kind of teaching places but I knew somebody who worked at Berlitz and it was a pretty decent place to work at.

A friend in Taiwan who I was talking to recently told me that all of the Wall Street Institute English schools closed and the company went *beep* up.

Besides that, I've heard and read mostly only negative reports about Wall Street Institute school of English, and not only regarding the schools that were in Taiwan.

Poor management that doesn't really care about the foreign teaching staff are the main complaints I've heard. Management that lies, rips students off, didn't pay teachers in full and suddenly closed their doors (permanently) ostensibly due to a typhoon and to fix damages to the building.

Approach with CAUTION.

Berlitz - probably better to work for than Wallstreet Institute.
