Hello everyone,
My name is Ruari. I will be in Thailand in a few weeks, beginning of October. I am going to look for a job over there. I was just wondering if there is a large ex-pat community in Bangkok and Thailand in general? It would be nice to meet other people in the same boat as myself.
Any help is appreciated

Don't delay too long in looking for a job when you arrive. You will be arriving towards the end part of the hiring season. I would start looking on the internet and sending out emails a week in advance while you are still at your homeplace.
Make sure you bring your diplomas, certificates, and criminal background check with you when you come. |

| Bangkok has tons of foreigners. Even smaller cities like Chiangmai have lots. You will always have foreigners because Thailand is so freakin beautifu. |

This post is two months late, however you will meet tons of foriegners everywhere, on the buses, at the restaurants, in the guest houses and on the street and at the markets. Foriegners are ubiqotous. You will if you want be able to establish contacts with people that you like. Be careful, because westerners are now involved in serious scamming. Know when something is too good to be true and when somebody is offering you something for nothing even in the most innocous manner. The criminals are very sophisticated at ripping people off without violence. Like I said they are using westerners now and there are also westerners that need money for their sex trips and drugs. |
