Scot,
i was not "going berserk and blaming you" for anything.
I never mentioned the OP's nationality - or perception of same I acknowledged that you had much greater Saudi experience than I do, just adding that I thought that employers might be happy to have someone who's less likely to get nervous and run at the next sign of trouble.
I still think that may well be the case. |

Dear Cleopatra,
Uh, I could be wrong, but when I read it, I got the distinct impression that scot47's "going beserk and blaming you" comment was not directed at you at all, but rather at aussie_teacher. As you may have noticed, scot47 sometimes lays some hard truths on newbies and on those unfamiliar with a locale they are considering teaching in. He thinks that people should do "their homework" about a place before travelling there (and I agree). And on a number of occasions, those who don't get the answers they would have liked from him, take it personally. However, you don't fit into either of the above-mentioned categories.
Regards,
John |

Thanks everyone for the great advice. It's really giving me another perspective on Saudi.
Al-Bulbul,
Now that i reconsider my views on Hajj, i probably agree with you.

My flak was aimed at aussie_teacher and not at you. To my surprise he had the good grace to accept the flak as warning fire and he did not react adversely.
Thank you Mostafa |

Flak? Warning fire? To your surprise?
Ms. Patra, are you hostile and aggressive?
