I am planning to teach in Bogota. I wanted to arrive there in the first week of December and stay for 4 days and hopefully get a job (assuming pre-arranged interviews)
.
Is it possible to get the documents for a workvisa in this short a time?

Then I am going to the US and will return around 23 January to start work.
Is this plan at all feasible?

First you have to find a company that is willing to sponsor a work visa. You can't just apply for one yourself. Best bet is to get in contact with various places when you show up.

Quite frankly, no this is not possible. Your assumption of pre-arranged interviews is a pretty strong assumption. Getting a job offer after 4 days is optimistic at any time of the year, but especially in December. Even during the first week of December, things are winding down...there may be a few places looking ahead to next year, but most will have either already hired or aren't thinking about it until they come back in January.

But even if things work out for you, you will definitely not have the documents you need from the employer within that 4 day period in order to go home and apply for a work visa.

I agree with windowlicker.

Bogota is pretty dead in December. I'd show up in January and plan on a couple of weeks to a couple of months to find something barely decent. A genuinely good job will take considerably longer.

If you have a CELTA, you should be able to get on at International House or (more difficult) a second tier university.
