Yep for once, I totally agree with you, who ever chooses to dole this stuff out to kids to digest and reguritate has either never had kids of their own or just does not connect with young people, makes you wonder if they were ever teenagers or whatever before they become one of our "teaching" collegues!
Sadly the Turkish education system is full of academic dullards who have very little idea about living in the real world especially when it comes to language learning, they can quote Gardner and Penny Ur till they are blue in the face, but its been a long time since I heard anything new from ANY of them! |

How many humans have anything interesting to say in their mother
tongue ? Surely a minority !
So why expect this miracle in a foreign tongue ? |

Interesting would be better than the one-sided one I had, however on reflection, any kind would do! |

Does being told the birthplaces, phobias and other facts about the members of One Direction count as interesting? I just had twenty minutes of that from a group of 12 year olds. |

It's an Anglo-Irish boy band; something I found out with the use of a magic tool called Google. (If you learned to use it you crazy Caledonian, you might find yourself complaining less whenever American posters make American cultural references.)

Crazy I may be, but I am not the one living on the Syrian border.
I can use Google and if you care to read through all my posts, you will see that I have demonstrated this here. |

Scot, I'm teasing you.
I'm not too worried, since Syrian attack on Antep guarantees swift retribution from all of NATO (except possibly the Greeks, but who needs the Greeks?) and the end of the Assad regime.
