Hello All,
After reading the posts in the job experience section, I was wondering if anyone has had any recent positive experiences and/or recommendations with schools in Shanghai. I am looking to go there soon and I want to find a school that's a decent place to work. Salary is not so important as a school with an honest management. It's a big city and there must be some people who are happy where they work! I taught in Kaohsiung for the YMCA about 10 years ago and had a great time. Thanks for any help! |

Sorry, Shanghai is a very small town and thus they have very few decent schools there. Maybe things were different 10 or 12 years ago, but you never really came back to discuss this issue. I'd suggest being a teacher somewhere else. 20+ years ago, the YMCA only brings The Village People to mind. |

Come on Zachary. There's no need to be down on Shanghai. The OP can pick himself off the ground. He will be in a new town and there will be no need for him to be unhappy. I know it looks expensive but it has places you can go when you're short on your dough. If the OP comes here he can stay and I'm sure he will find many ways to have a good time. It's fun to stay here. You can hang out will all the boys (and I mean ALL of them). |
