Well, I don't need Spainish (whatever that might be -- excuse the cheap shot). Mostly I use psychic powers. My students sit in a row and then I beam the language directly into their young minds. Some people might think this is a waste of my gift, but I prefer to think of it as facilitating communication for those less telepathically blessed. <-- this is the look on their face as the English rushes into their skulls. |

Hi SpanishFly,
No you do not need to speak Spanish, in order to teach TEFL, but I'd highly recommend it as it will help you communicate with your non-English colleagues and other Spanish people.
As far as teaching children goes, you will be playing games and singing songs most of the time....so, no need to know Spanish.
Teaching kids is great!
