Residents of Banpo 4 dong earned 60.8 million won ($51,500) a year on average, followed by those in Ichon 1 dong, central Seoul, who earned an average 56.8 million won.
Jamsil 7 dong, in southern Seoul, was placed third with an average annual income of 54.9 million won. Burim-dong, in Gwacheon city, ranked 10th, making it the only district outside Seoul in the top-10. Of the top-20 income-earning districts, 16 were in Seoul.
When the research team compared its results with the 2002 government census, it found the richest residents were likely to be college graduates in their 40s who lived in apartments.

How many earn approximately 50,000,000 won annually? Do you earn 50,000,000 won annually? Why not?
Is it true?
Foreign professors must submit to yearly contracts (compensated at a rate only 60 percent of their Korean peers) while walled off from the permanent Korean faculty who benefit from travel, research funding, sabbaticals, etc. Moreover, when hundreds of Korean scholars enjoy such perks at American and other foreign universities, something is obviously amiss.
According to the Samsung Group's chairman, Lee Kun-hee, to succeed globally, Korea must forgo the thought that Korea and being Korean is superior, and foreign specialists must be treated with respect. If Korean companies follow this standard, Korea's institutions of higher learning cannot afford to do less.
