What are some good games for children ages 3-6? I need some simple and fun games. Nothing complex, as they can't understand much else but actions and symbols.

10 minute class? Are you sure you want a game? How about "head and shoulders" followed by "the eansy weansy spider" followed by "this is the way I brush my teeth" ?

Or

Musical chairs singing "walking walking.... hop hop hop ...running running..... now let's stop. (I know it's annoying, but it is something they can do and understand)

Here are some games I found helpful with that age group:

Doggy, Doggy Who's Got My Bone?
One child closes their eyes while one of the other children hides a "bone" under himself. The children chant the title of the song.

Simon Says
When they get good at it, change it to tricky Simon where you do something different that what you say

Follow the Leader
Chanting with a rhythm is good for this one (e.g) Touch the desk, (tap, tap) touch the desk (tap, tap)...

Hot Potato
Use a ball or children tap their neighbor on the fist
Last person to be touched or receive the ball is out (with 3 year olds I don't recommend actually asking them to sit out)
One potato, two potato, three potato, four
Five potato, six potato, seven potato, more!

Who am I?
Child acts out animal or action while class tries to guess

What's Missing
(Objects, pictures, shapes, colors)
Put items on table. Children put their heads down and you or a student removes one. The other's guess what is missing.

Mystery box[b
Tape a box shut and cut open a hole big enough to get objects in and out.
Place items of different shapes or textures or familiar objects in the box.
Each child gets a turn to put a hand in the box and pick up one item and guess what it is, or what shape ...

All children close eyes.
Choose one student to hide under the blanket
Chant:

Choose two children to play at a time
Throw a few letters on the ground ( I chose to have two sets of the same letters with younger kids so that they don't get discouraged)
Sing:
I'm looking for an "A"
I'm looking for an "A"
High ho the derry-o
I'm looking for an "A"
The two children race to find the letter and bring it back to you

Sweet Kitty (Puppy)
Kids sit in a circle and pretend to be a kitty
One kid is chosen to go in the middle and to try and make the others stop acting like a kitty and laugh

Hot / Cold
One child hides eyes
You or another child hides an object
The other children try to help her find it by saying hot, warm, cool, cold (depending on knowledge of those words)

Treasure hunt
Before class hide objects, shapes, letters around the room
Children go on a treasure hunt to find them
When all are found - identify them together

Exchange places[/b
Children sit in a circle
Call out instructions - "Everyone wearing green"
All those who fit the description get up and try to find a new spot.
When they get better at it - leave one spot short and whoever fails to find a spot goes into the middle and gives the next direction.
