Greetings and sorry for any redundancies...

As a swashbuckling of 27 I had a job at a Korean uni and was lauded for my youth and vigor.

Now I want to come back. But I'm 32. I don't look, feel that much older, but have I, as they say, passed it in the youth-obsessed land of the nubile sum-ni-das?

many people here are in their 40's and older teaching at univs. I'm 40 and am one of the younger teachers at our univ

Sorry if this is prying but what do you plan to do after Korea? Ever worry about getting back into the job market outside of Korea if you ever decide you wnat to leave?

"back into the job market outside of Korea" doesn't need to be in the home country (the "back" part of that sort of implies it). There's a whole world out there.

I have NO intention of raising my child in this country, for a whole list of reasons, so I know I'll be gone from here within two years. Worried about finding a good job? Not at all.

And DON'T listen to those who say Korean experience counts for nothing on resumes. It depends on what the experience is (uni or hogwon, for example), the kind of job you're applying for, and where it is.

I'm 40 something and work at a university where the avarage age of the foregn staff is in the mid 30s.

the average age at my uni is late 20's... we have some older people on staff, but they don't seem to be very popular..

Visited friends at a university in Taegu, and met a few expats who were over 55. Didn't bother them or the students. They were young at heart though, and one of them actually dated a lot of his students. Saw mini photographs of him with young girls taken in those photo booths, that are very popular. You know what I mean. There are 4 different photographs on one photo kind of thing. He said he had a fit when he was dragged in there, but he was still able to get his composure and do all the smiling and poseing.

If you have a brain and it works, then it really doesn't matter. The university where I work, the average age would have to be about mid 30's . A year ago, there was an excellent teacher in his 50's, but we lost him to EPIK.
