I'm interested in next Sunday's buffet idea. I would prefer earlier as opposed to later. What about 4? Not too early, not too late?

Hey folks! I've got a link for you:

http://seoulveggieclub.wordpress.com

All announcements will be posted here, as well as on Dave's, for the following reasons:

-no sifting through threads to find the latest news
-you won't have to read the entire thread to find out the latest developments
-people can leave comments without being members of Dave's

There's also a mailing list, which I would like to use to keep people updated if they forget to check the website. If you'd like to be added, please send me a private message.

Well, their lunch hours are 12 noon till 2:30 and dinner hours don't start till 6pm (and go till 9:00)

Usually, it's a good idea to get to buffets early rather than late ...

Their outdoor tables are very nice (depending on the weather) and since it's not too hot yet, I think that lunch might be the best bet (which reminds me of the Kentucky Derby that I'll also be preoccupied with this weekend...)

I can make it for either lunch or dinner - and I can meet at Yanjiae Station (Orange line 342) exit 5 about 15 minutes before whatever time we decide to meet to guide first-timers to either the right bus (in front of Nike store) or taxi ...

Although the regular price for their excellent "all you can eat" buffet is 13,000 won, I can arrange for a flat 10,000 won price by using my accumulated "stamp" credits and paying for all the meals .(and getting the additional stamps on my card - they give a free meal for every ten stamps ...)

So, it's up to President "Kermo" to make the final call . She's set things up very well for more people to participate ... BTW, it only took me a minute to register on the other veggie club site she's linked to...

Ok, it's a go.
Rteacher, I really appreciate all the info you've posted. There's a chance I won't be able to make it, but I'm sure you'll manage just fine.

By the way, the buffet there only costs 8,000 now. I went there last weekend.

That's amazing if true - nearly a 40% reduction! ... Are you sure that's the new standard price? - Sometimes when I've gotten there near their closing time, and their buffet was kind of depleted, they only charged me like half price ...

Of course, at their branch near Hanti station (Vegelove Cafe) they only charge 8,500 won for a smaller - yet still very good - buffet. Did it seem like they've reduced their number of preps at SM Ching hai ? ...

Okeydoke. Let's (tentatively, unless a lot of people object) say it's a lunch meeting (how's 1 o'clock) at SM Chinghai. I'll send out an email and update the blog with that information tomorrow morning.

If you are not on the email list, you can be added by sending me a PM.

If you would like to confirm your attendance, please leave a message on the blog. You don't have to register for anything or even use your real name. We just need a head count.

Actually we were the first in the door that day, they let us tuck into the buffet about 20 minutes early. It was as big as I remember, but definitely different. No more donkass, replaced by faux sushi and -- mmm --- curry. Bottomless, bottomless curry. I think Vegelove actually has pretty the same size spread actually.

Sounds good ... Anyone interested in joining us at SM Ching hai vegetarian restaurant this Sunday just post here or PM "Kermo" or - better yet - go to the link that she provided: http://seoulveggieclub.wordpress.com/...

Those who already know how to get there can just meet us there. I'll wait at the line 3 (Orange line 342) Yangiae station, exit 5, from around 12:30 till 12:45 and then head over via bus or taxis. 10,000 won per person should cover the total cost for meal and transportation...

I'll still try to get there by 12:30, but I just found out that KBS Sports is carrying the HBO feed to the Oscar de la Hoya - Floyd Mayweather fight at 10 am, and (among other things...) I'm a boxing fan...

So far as I know (unless "kermo has gotten emails she hasn't posted on her link...) I'm the only guy showing up with about five women -

I may have to PM 'Danthechainsawman" to make a guest appearance (to keep this club from turning into just an extension of the "Ladies Lunch" program ... Surprised )

I thought that the lunch gathering, elaborate vegetarian buffet, and setting were all very nice.

I was a little worried that there would be a small turnout - and that I'd be the only guy - but we actually had thirteen people show up (including seven males...)

"Kermo" is doing a great job as the executive President, while I head up the second-tier management (... I think the key to a successful club is to give all the members some fancy official title like "Vice-President in charge of Procurement of Forks and Napkins" ...) Cool

Yup, it was gorgeous. Thanks for the turn-out, thou faithful herbivores. See you on the third Saturday for a picnic! (Keep an eye out on the website for the location!)
