i'm sure there are lots. i've joined this dating thing and i think its cool to have a photo but i can't seem to find a pc room with a scanner so i can save to disc and put a photo on. i live in byeongjeom near suwon and have been to quite a lot but to no avail. if someone can just tell me where one is. in seoul is fine, kangnam or whatever just so i can sort it out, it would be cool.

walk into any pc bang. 99% of them have scanners. the question you need to ask is "where is there a pc bang with a scanner AND an operator who knows how to work it?!?"

I agree, almost all pc rooms have scanners. They are generally kept at the front desk. You'll have to ask. Koreans use the enlish word for scanner....but of course they don't pronounce the hard 'r' at the end.

Try asking "Scannah issoyo?" for do you have a scanner.

In Seoul I went to Kinko's to get my passport and degree scanned, although maybe it was unnecessary and more expensive, but if you need a scanner for sure that's an option.

I need 'a pc bang with a scanner', as well. Kinko's in Seoul is a great idea. The attendants are paid to serve and there's no hassle. Going into a pc bang is a big production. Doesn't work, it isn't hooked up, they don't know what you want, or how to use it, and would rather not be bothered. It stresses them out trying to guess what it is you want, and they freeze up. Get more demonstrative, they freeze up harder. By 'they' I mean 'whichever Korean has the misfortune to encounter the wildly gesturing Meegook'.

I don't know what you want to scan but some of the photo shops do digital photos onto whatever (disk CD rom) that you can edit and print from a computer. Also there are the digital scaners at the photocpy at a few places in Seoul.

Kinko's.

Photoshop 5.0 -- a little older, but it'll still load Photoshop 7 files.
