Of course, us Brits get all our visa-processing done for free out here, whilst all the other sods have to fork out for E-2s, multiple re-entry visas etc |

I've seen a few mentions of an expat football league.
Do many brits get involved in that, and what's the standard like?
I presume there will be a few teams in the Seoul area, and it sounds like a good way to work of the Hite & Kimchi. |

The British embassy used to have Quiz nights. Not sure if they still do, but it used to be a good way to meet the limes and have some fun.
Check the embassy and the British Council.
The quiz was held in the embassy bar. I love that Bass Ale. |

I've actually never encountered any Brits here yet, but I'd love to.
Joke:
Q: What do you call a raver in a filing cabinet?
A: Sorted!
Horrible and old I know but it kind of tickles my funny bone.
Are brits here as nice and cool as the ones I met in NZ? |

A bollock is a testicle.
However, bollocks can mean rubbish - or "bull$h!t" (for the benefit of our cousins across the Atlantic).
So, "What a load of bollocks" translates into "What a load of BS."
"Bollocks" can also be used as an exclamation the same way we use "$h!t!"
So if things went wrong, for example you lost your mobile/cell phone, or you fell down the pavement/sidewalk and grazed your knees, you might cry out "Bollocks!" the same way you'd cry out "$h!t!"
"It's a load of bollocks" is an insult. However, "It's the dog's bollocks!" is high praise.
So "this discussion forum is the dog's bollocks" means this discussion forum is a very good thing indeed. Shame there are so many posters writing so much bollocks on it. |

I have to use the word bollocks a lot when talking politics with "Interested"... and she's right, I've met her, and she is technically a Brit, though I'm not sure she's human, I was thinking more along thi lines of a normal homo sapien... |

Generally I can't stand the English, but i'm happy to put the passport they gave me to good use. They also came up with a great language. |
Note that we British rarely rise to such infantile bait. Take a leaf out of our reserved book old man, and don't play such childish games. You pillock. |

** Feeling slightly stupid for resurecting my own thread again **
Im leaving for Korea on Wednesday, and was curious as to whether im going to find any of the following items anywhere in Korea:
1- Decent tea bags (PG Tips or Tetley)
2- Boddingtons (or any other) bitter
3- Ribena or Vimto
4- HP Brown sauce
5- Bacon & sausages
6- Branston Pickle
7- Real chedder cheese (not like the bright orange shite you get in the US)
8- Mint sauce
9- Warbutons bread (long shot I know)
Im sure I will love Korean food, but every now and again, its nice to taste a bit of home.
What are the chances? |

Don't know if any of the items are there but you should check out the international food market in Hannam Dong. Can't remember the directions but I'm sure many here could.
I'd be interested to know if anyone knows how many British style pubs are there in Korea? |

I did stock up on HP sauce earlier this year at a supermarket near Itaewon. However, I was a little worried that there was a sale of the stuff. Were they just trying to get rid of unpopular stock? I'll look again when I have some time.
Cheese: yes, you can get good cheese (i.e. cheese imported from Europe). You need to go to an upmarket place, or somewhere that caters to foreigners. I assume you can get good chedder, but I haven't looked. I usually by French camembert or Swiss cheese. |

The difference between us Brits and all the other nationalities here is that we don't feel that we have to go out in a 'pack' when we go out. So, when you are drinking, you can ALWAYS hear the Canadians. You can ALWAYS see the green of the Irish. You can ALWAYS get cornered by an American. But you never really see any Brits. We are usually too drunk and have either gone home or are the ones talking incoherently to themselves in the corner. |
