Are there other Burger Kings in Korea other than the one Itaewon? |
In any city there should be loads of BKs, McDonald's, KFCs, Pizza Huts, Dominos, etc. I can't walk for 10 minutes in Suwon without running into a KFC; there are 2 in Suwon Station and another 2 blocks away. |
Come to Jeonju: 600,000 people and not a since BK to be found. We had a Subway's for a minute and it imploded into a Hammy Yummy..whatever the *beep* that is |

tell me about it, come to Jeju Free International City, the hawaii of the orient, sports mecca, the new hong kong/singapore. One Burger King, long closed down in a still empty building (below the closed cinema, near the closed lotteria)
Whats the first thing I do when I get to seoul? |

Never mind the Burger King. Is the Smokey Saloon still open? They do/did some excellent burgers. |

If I didn't have to wait for a table every single time I've gone there, it would be one of my favorite places in Itaewon. They gotta expand, mang. The whole operation. |

I heard from someone working in Itaewon that BK moved because the land owner raised his rent to 10,000,000 won a month. |
Yeah, that's pretty common. The Starbucks in Myeong Dong had its rent doubled at the end of its contract. It said buh bye and moved down a block. |

Agreed. They have only a few tables and they're often full. Really good food though.
I've heard that Nashville's does a good burger too. |

Wouldn't StarBucks be a better analogy? I like Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, because they have decent tea. |

no, starbucks=mcdonald's. Those two are the biggest, most famous while their quality of product leaves much to be desired.
BK and CBTLF are one step down but have slightly better quality. Of course this is strictly my own opinion. |

So true. I remember the Starbucks in Myeongdong, the most expensive retail space in Korea.
Add to the list Coffee Bean in Myungdong. It used to occupy the huge complex below Hurest Health Club. It recently shut down its doors as well, leaving only the Coffee Bean Myungdong next to Outback.
While I'm not dissapointed over both McDonalds' departures from Myungdong, it's a bit funny being in a place so populated with no McDiks in sight. |

That sucks! Now you can't tell the taxi drivers "Burger King ap eh..."
If you say that, they'll take you to the wrong place if they even know where the new one is.
If you say "Coffee Bean ap eh..." they are just going to give you a or or and you will be like if your Korean ability sucks.
It may have been just a Burger King, but it was truly a landmark for Itaewon. |
