Hi everyone,
My wife and I just accepted a contract for a school in Bangbae. Looks like its halfway between Naebang station and Isu station, right on the subway line. On a larger scale, on a map it looks about halfway between Kangnam station and Chongik university. The apartments are supposed to be 5-10 minutes walk away from the school.
Can anyone give us some insight on what the neighborhood is like? We've never been to Korea before and are kind of nervous. Its supposed to be a "rich" neighborhood, whatever that means. Hopefully it doesn't mean we get a crappy apartment because the good ones are too expensive (its a 2 bedroom).
We're excited, but nervous about walking into a decent situation over there. |

Bangbae is quite a nice area. That doesn't mean that you'll have a particularly nice place. I've lived in three different places in Korea and the quality of my apartment has never changed dramatically. Chances are your boss is going to keep an eye on the bottem line. |

I live in that neighborhood. It's not bad, but can be a bit noisy. I would say though that "rich" only refers to the housing costs though. PM me if you'd like some more info. |
