Oh my God...Don't get me started on Uncle 29. That place is a bar,not a restaurant,am I right? Those bartenders are jerks in there, too. My friend told me all about them.

Outback in Hong-dae has been slipping, IMHO. I have also been to the one in Il-san, and will try E-dae or Itewaon or Bundang to see if it is an 'all-over' phenomenon.

First, they cut the Porterhouse!!! Shocked My favorite steak, but you had to order it 'off' the menu.

Then, their salads changed, too. They have lost the croutons, bacon bits, and several dressing choices, such as the blue cheese.

Bread is now one loaf, unless you specifically ask for more. And, the baked potato has gotten smaller, and not decked out the same . . .

Waah!!!

I definitely feel dim-sum coming on this weekend. As for Tex-Mex, that can be done at home, if you have a decent kitchen & live in Seoul.

There are at least 3 Thai restaurants in Seoul (Itaewon), & sure there are more. Does anyone have details, and is it southern or northern style???

I've felt the same way, but wasn't sure if quality was actually slipping or just the novelty had worn off.

However, I did ask why there was no blue cheese last time I went (a few months ago) and was told it was because Korean Customs habitually held up shipments.

Go to the Viking Buffet on the 52 story of the Wolrd Trade Center. They have an amazing buffet. Western,Japanese and Korean sections, plus dessert. They had stuffed scallops on the half-shell when I went.

How did you like the strawberry smoothie at Hooters?

The one in Cheongju City served me a very good meal in May of 2007.

Big Rock, which is outside exit 7 of Gangnam, serves a good breakfast buffet Sunday mornings. Price is good too: 10,000 won.

If you're a high roller, the buffet at The Terrace (I think that's the name) at the Grand Hyatt is to die for: sashimi half as thick as your thumbnail, rack of lamb, and great salads. I don't know the price because my school was paying, but whatever it is, it's expensive I'm sure.
Does anyone know how much it is for breakfast?

Also last weekend I went to Evergreen (Indian) for brunch, and it was quite good. 15,000 won. It's just before The Red Door (Itaewon) on the second floor.

There are other specialized buffets in Seoul. Maybe this is too broad of a subject for one thread.

There must be more to add here?

Can anyone speak for Ocean's seafood?

I mean can you get a stuffed halibut anywhere?

Swordfish?

The best buffet that I have ever been to is at the Ritz Carlton in Gangnam. It is expensive but worth every penny!

Chakraa buffet on Saturday and Sundays is very delicious Indian curries with great flat breads. I tried the Evergreen too, but didn't like it. Great curry with fresh fruits in a tropical place is king. Wah...wah.... I want to go to Thailand or Bali this Summer. Can you call the wambulance to come get me since no flights are available and I'm complaining about that I'm stuck in Corea? I guess the best I can do is go to Itaewon for the taste of the outside world.

Chakraa rocks. Go try it if stuck in Korea, but taking time off.

Any Thai buffets?

There are shabu-shabu buffets in a restaurant chain named "Shabumi" in the food courts of Home Plus stores in Seoul and other locations. It's a great buffet for about 13,000, and includes: shabu-shabu, sushi, and some Korean dishes. Plus, it has desserts.
