Where are you teaching adults? Company, school, etc. |

In my experience, university students primarily want listening and comprehension testing instead of them talking. So you'll need to find out when they are expecting first.
Odds are they are expecting that, so you'll need to go out and buy books with audio tapes of actors in scenarios (like you hear on the radio in the morning), then play the tape followed by a written test after (usually multiple choice).
If you're lucky and it's an English conversational course, you'll want to pick up a book for teaching situational English. How to order a meal, ask about a person's history, getting directions, etc. Stuff they can use when travelling abroad or dealing with foreigners here. |
