F u k u o k a is the only place in Japan I've been.
I've been happy with Heiwadai Hotel Honkan.
The overnight rates are low and they serve a good breakfast and lunch.
They are close to the the Akasaka stop, which is #24.
MacDonald's and Lotteria are nearby.
It's a long walk to the Korean Consulate but close enough for an inexpensive cab ride.
Their phone number is 092-781-6066.
PS While you're there, try their carbonated lemon drink.
It's available at Lotteria.
It's delicious. |

If you have time wander around Hakata station. There are a lot of sushi bars. There are some reasonably priced hotels behind the station as well. You can take the subway to The F u k u o k a dome stadium and wander around there as well. There is some neat stuff to see. The Korean consulate is within walking distance of the stadium. |

Why is the word F u k u o k a censored in this forum?
Is it considered a naughty word,
or is there a blip in the computer program? |

I know a way around censors, but I refuse to use it for anything other than typing...Fukuoka!!! Plus I promised william beckerson back when I first demonstrated it(and he was still a mod) that I wouldn't abuse the knowledge...can't reveal my secret. |

Just got back from Osaka! A real breeze, applied at 11:ooam and it was ready at 3:00pm the same day as promised , The Korean embassy is across from the Holiday Inn Nankai-Namba. Take the Namba train from the Kansai airport.
Osaka is a nice town and there are day trips to Kyot,Nara, etc. My total cost was 250,000 for the flight, hotel - 210,000 for 3 nights.
You can go to Julices website for the map, directions, address, etc.
Sayonara! |

See. That's why I'm allowing Zyzyfer to sleep with me.
I have no idea why Fukuoka keeps getting censored. Unless Sperling got a version of phpBB that had a bunch of words already installed in the auto-filter, it shouldnt be cesored. He has to go in and enter the words by hand. At least, that's how my phpBB is running. Maybe someone should email him about it?
Anyway, I found Osaka is best if you only want to do the afternoon run. It's brainlessly easy to get to the Korean embassy there, plus the Rapido train is mighty nice. I havent been to the Fukuoka embassy but I understand it's not as easy to find. |

Yea, Osaka's a'ight, but Fukuoka just has a great feel to it, especially when you've been doing the big(or even sometimes small) city thang in Korea. You wanna go somewhere where there's a nice, cool breeze at night from the nearby ocean(best in the summer), and everybody's relaxed, since it isn't a big city like Tokyo or Osaka.
Tokyo is the last place I'd ever think of going to in Japan...yikes. |
