Is it next to a furniture store? Between... which two stores/businesses?
That info might help. |

Yea, that's it and it's tiny, but has a few well appreciated American goods for sale. I too thought I would find a store larger than my apartment, but I found a bathroom sized store with an ajumma watching my every move, not that I would steal her rare valuables from the USA. Uh, I mean Army base through a special connection.
This store is tiny, but it's the first outfit in Korea I have seen selling pop tarts, spices, and Advil. Prices run roughly double than in the USA or in a PX as prices in PX often are cheaper than in the USA. I know from serving in the US military. The Red Door is so tiny that it's comparable to a tiny general store in a tiny American rural town, but this sort of tiny store in Korea is only found in the big city of Seoul. Outside of Seoul, you're whistling Dixie to find even a tiny store selling American things like Advil ibuprofen tablets since Korean ibuprofen is ineffective. Busan has the Seamans club which has an even tinier store selling a few personal hygiene products, candy, and an English newspaper. |

Uhhhhh... The Red Door Store does not have a red door.
I think it should be called the Glass Door Store, or the Red Door Frame Door Store. I missed it the first time I went looking for it because I didn't see no stinkin red door nowheres. Ajumma even looked at me through the glass door, but I had no idea that was the place.. |

I prefer going to Hannam market. They have more or less the same things as the Red Door and there is also a little store just outside which sells things you might not find in Hannam market itself.

That white wall looks like a good spot for some nice graffiti art that says, "Red Door Store." Somebody hit it!
(With permission of course!) |

well now i can answer my own question. they do have trojans, but damn!! 10,000 won for 6?? that shop near hongdae's main gate is way better, for price, range, and service.
the old lady with the mysterious army base connection was nice enough, but i think that store's crap. expensive, tiny, and i didn't really see anything that anyone with any kind of culinary conscience would want to consume. also, sh itaewon is so dirty, esp round the area that little room's in. that cool, kinda spooky foreign goods section in namdaemoon is heaps superior. best place for liquor that i've found in seoul. |
