I'm trying to find an appartment and will be wanting airconditioning in the summer - how much does an adequate machine cost?

I'm trying to calculate the how much extra it is worth paying to have aircon and how much it will cost me to buy my own.

Apologies if this has been asked before - pm if you prefer

I bought a small a/c window unit for my bedroom - used, but in very good condition for W100,00 at a used appliances store. It works GREAT and in fact, would probably do my living room too. Didn't add more than W10k a month in the summer - there are lower electric rates in the summer too. Might buy another one for the LR next summer if it is hot. I like to keep the bear den comfy.

We have an LG Wissen wall unit. In the old apartment, never had a bill more than 35,000 in the summer. In this apartment (2 pyong larger), the bill was around 60,000 a month! It's an 8-pyong air con and I paid 600,000 for it a year and a half ago.

My boss found me a used wall mounted ari con for 350,000, my highest summer bill was 80,000, but that was only one bill, all the other months have been between 20,000 - 30,000. Well worth it for me, my apt. was a pressure cooker.

I bought a Carrier floor model (simpilar to restaurant size ) for my place - 28 pyong.

An extra 20-30,000won per month for peak July - August.

Well worth it as my place was nose-bleed hot!
