|
|
I'm going to work in Daegu as an English teacher starting this fall but wanted to enter Korea, look for a job, and then after getting a job, obtain a work visa. I want to live in Korea for about as long as the travel visa allows while looking in person for jobs. So, my question is, would I have to come back to the U.S. to do my visa interview or could I go to Japan??? I"ve heard that there are "no more visa runs to Japan?"
Thanks!! |

Visa run tomorrow at 10am. Wish me luck. Anyone else going? or staying at the Hotel Metro the 21? If so, see you there. I'll likely be the confused one. |

If you've got lots of time on your hands, take the boat from Busan. You need to book a month in advance, though.
Places to stay? I stayed in 3 different hotels in the area, to see what I liked. Hands down, the Westin Osaka was the best. It is right next to the Umeda Sky Building. Right in the middle of everything. After taxes and everything, about $180 a night. There's a hotel shuttle from Osaka station. If that's too pricey, you can get a good mid-range place for $100 a night, or a capsule hotel for $35. However, if you're going to stay in a capsule hotel, you might want to consider sacking out at a PC room. They have deluxe recliners, I hear, in your own little closet, and you can sleep very comfortably there, for even less money then the capsule hotels. |

On www.hostelworld.com, there are hotels for $25/night in Osaka.
I'll be in one of them this weekend |

What is the fee for the visa in the Korean Consulate in Osaka, and what do you use to buy the visa stamp in the machine there? currency wise, I mean?
Does a ps pay for that do you know? |

Just got back from my visa run. Wow, what a cool place! Coming back to ol' Suwon is definitely a letdown! And for those who are curious, same day runs don't seem possible, as I was right there when the doors opened. I still had to come back the next day to pick up my passport. Oh well, it was worth it, as I got to browse around all of the record shops! |

Hello...
How much does it cost to pay for a visa now in Osaka?
Anybody know?? I am going to Japan this week for the Visa Run and would like to know what kind of budget I have to play with..
I am looking for my own accomm too so searching for a nice but reasonable inexpensive place to stay there too..
Any advice or help?
Thank you,
D |
