My hogwon director wants me to teach an intensive grammar course for elementary school kids this summer. Has anyone used /know of any good elementary grammar text books for kids? It's only a month-long course, so I need something not too thick and heavy.
Thanks in advance for any information.
cheers!

Most of the bigger ESL shops here sell those thick all subject homework books from the U.S. Tear out the pages that interest you and have a local printer run you up a book.

I was going to suggest "The Grammar Lab" by Rena Bourke (sp?) but it may be a bit much to do in one month. Great for kids though. If you only want to something short, try using one level of "American English today". It comes in 6 levels and with the workbook it does a lot with grammar for kids. You'll have to check them out to see what level is appropriate.

Hope this helps
Cheers

I'll second the Grammar Lab books. They've got all the basic verb tenses and essential grammar bits, such as articles, plurals, etc. plus sections of questions, cartoons, and speaking exercises. You'll still need to supplement them with homework to practice each section.

Still, in my hagwon, those were definitely an essential staple of our elementary level classes!

"where are these esl shops?"

So basically the question never gets answered. Funny.
