The other posters are right about Korean women's pubic hair- it can be a lot. I've even been told, by women who frequent the female changing room in their gym, that many women here blow dry the hair to fluff it up. Surprised

Strangely enough though they get very little hair elsewhere- one girl I dated never shaved her legs, and had only a few strands of hair on one leg.

As for reactions? I'm a guy and I get reactions about my body hair, so as a woman you'll probably get a lot of attention.

since most women back home (in my experience) at least trim, it took a little getting used to going to korea. but after a while the only problem i had with it was when one got tied around my uvula (the little hangy-down thing in your throat).

(gag, gag)

"teacha, why is you is put finger in neck?"

"um, i'm bulimic, look it up."

I look like George "The Animal" Steele in the sauna, but it doesn't really illicit many stares, surprisingly enough. In the class, however, would get the typical 'oh, teacher... gorilla!' etc. If you're a woman, I'd invest in a razor or some pants. Unless by 'hippie' you mean 'lazy'.

What I really don't understand is how bald-headed foreigners attract so much finger-pointing? Aren't there enough buddhists roaming around to make it seem normal?

I've seen more than a few men use the blow-dryer to "roast their nuts" in the gym's lock-room

Also, I JUST saw a Korean commercial for Neet - a hair-removal foam.

I'm amused by how this instantly turned into a thread about pubic hair . . .

Anyhow- No worries, I do in fact have a tough skin. I currently live in Utah (helllllo Mormons!!!) and regularly wear shorts . . . and get stares. And for what its worth, I won't be teaching little ones, I'll be teaching high school.

And I assure you, by "hippie" I don't mean "lazy" Razz

i have had a number of k-girlfriends and one thing they do not seem to do is shave "down there". i know some do, but i think they have to watch western porn before they would even consider it.

You can't really appreciate female pubic hair until you have the soapy massage in LOS

I was just thinking of that old Superman movie where Zod and the others were stopped by these country cops and the cops say "These guys must be from Los Angeleez, go on you hippies, move out of the way!" I am just kidding. I am sure you will be fine. I know in Europe some women have some hair, and it has nothing to do with being a hippy or not.
It is just cultural for some.

i never wanted to turn it into a thread about pubic hair.

i was just commenting on something that seems to have become the norm back home, but koreans seem resistant to. they don't seem to shave their legs (i don't think) because there is little significant hair growth on their legs and arms, for the most part.

though shaving your pubes has become a widely-accepted western norm, i have to admit that it is (while convenient for dudes who like giving their lady a lot of face-time) totally unnatural. i have friends who demand it of their significant other and i find that to be totally subhuman behavior.

because, well, i'm awesome.
