A few questions...

1. Where can I book tickets to Australia online?
2. Has anyone shipped a large amount of household goods back home?
3. Has anyone used Asian Dragons moving company?
4. Are they expensive?
5. Any advice for moving in general.......

Thanks

Opposite direction info...

I moved from Sydney to Seoul in 2001, and shipped an apartment full of stuff (queen bed, sofa, tables, chairs, desk, computer, personal effects etc) via airfreight (3 days port to port) for about A$2200. I know we got a heck of a deal - my Korean wife arranged it all, and she's a wizard. I think the reason we got such a low price was deadheading back in empty shipping containers, probably.

Anyway, if you can do that well with price, you're rocking.

A friend recently shipped about half as much gear to Thailand (by sea, so about 3 weeks) and it cost him around US$1800.

Check out the Australian customs site before you send anything back. They have rules for everything, so you may need a customs broker to handle it for you. Being hit with import duty and/or GST may be a huge chunk of cash on top of the freight costs. Anything purchased up to 12 months ago will incur customs duty/GST. Anything older will require reciepts for proof of purchase. Motor vehicles have a different way of assessment.

Good luck.

Still crazy, still here.
