can anyone actually confirm the cannabinoid testing has been removed from the medical check?

As in, actually done the testing and checked the results, to find that cannabinoids were not being screened for?

The reason why Immigration dropped the cannabinoid test requirement is because so few places in Korea had the ability to test for it in the first place.

So now that Immi has officially dropped the requirement (as of mid-March), you can be sure that no one's testing for it.

All you Canadian hopheads can breathe (inhale?) a little easier.

No they've realised that it made no difference and changed it for a simple question that they ask at the interview:

*Would you walk for 4-5 miles in the middle of the night just to find somewhere (such as an all night garage) that sold crisps or mars bars and had shiny lights?

Yeah i have read that stuff as well, but can anyone personally confirm that it has been removed by actually going through the test and passing it or failing it?

I dont trust korean immi.....

BTW: I have been in korea already for over a year now. Having said that I am inquiring for a friend.

There IS NO CANNABINOID TEST to pass or fail so you can't pass or fail it.

It was officially dropped.

OP: Go back and read my first post again very slowly.

They dropped the cannabinoid test because NO ONE IN KOREA CAN DO IT.

I recall reading that the only lab in the country capable of performing the test is the government's central forensic lab in Seoul. They quickly realized that this lab would be overwhelmed once the grace period expired.

Well, Immigration in Cheongju is STILL making you take the cannaboid test. I had to take it mid-May. Of course my boss had to go through 6 different people, and ended up back at the st one who passed him on, to find out where we got it done.

According to Kimmi all I needed was the aids and cannaboid test, but the hospital would only do a full physical. 1st question I was asked was if I was being treated for brain disease. Last of 5 rooms I was shuttled through for various crap had a receptionist that just couldn't resist pointing and giggling after say foreigner in Korean. Such a nice professional hospital. Last idiot I had to deal with told me in pretty good English that my blood pressure was high. Don't think she was impressed when I said it was because they were pissing me off.

Mind you it is pretty much standard for here. Immigration doesn't know what it is supposed to do. Why would the hospital?

What is compulsory is the AIDS test and the drug test (excluding the cannibas test) ... There is still a drug test ... just not for that ... And it is one of the 2 things which must be included ... More than that is usually done and reported on ... but the check must include those two things ...
