I've seen Janes Addiction twice, around 1988. Both times they were the opening band, in that L.A. we'll open for anyone kind of way. For Love and Rockets in Irvine, and Psychodelic Furs at the State Theater in Santa Barbara. Ferrell was all about jumping around the stage then, with wine bottle in hand, socks on c*cks a la RHCP minus the sock. If I knew I was witnessing greatness, I would've paid more attention. |

Jane's Addiction, August 7th, 1991 at the CNE in Toronto; one of the best shows I've ever seen. They ended the set with 'Classic Girl' and some video footage of Perry and Casey's Santeria wedding (which I think is from the video); just mind-blowing.
Never saw Iggy, but would love to catch his show--he's still the best front man in the business. "Raw Power" is one album everybody should own. |

Iggy's a mere footnote in the story of rock'n'roll. His stage antics and persona are way more interesting than most of his music... |

Look, 2006 - 200 = 1806
If we are to understand "over 200 years ago" as giving us another 10 or so years, then we are most definitely in the 1700s. And I hardly think there was a "major" wave of Asian immigrants to America in the 1700s. That's like saying the ESL boom in Korea began over 100 years ago, when a few missionaries arrived.
Yes, I know which thread this is. |
