|
|
Guys,
Anyone know if Thirst is coming to theatres with English subs on Thursday? I was SURE I read an article in the Korea Times about theatres in Myeongdong, Kangnam and Yongsan playing this one (and others) with English subs, but I can't find the listing on Naver. I'm dying 'cause Park's one of my absolute favorite directors in the world and I NEED to see this on opening day. I'll see it without subs if I have to, but I was sure it was coming out with English subtitles (given the press/hype surrounding the film and the sort of high profile nature of the project).
Let me know what's up.

yeah, apparently cinus theater in gangnam and myeongdong are NOT showing it now - maybe in the future. . .
and i guess yongsan cgv has stopped their subtitle program.
what a bummer, especially because the article in the korea times said "opening day" . . . |

Try the Sincheon theater across from Steak Billy. I forget if it's Megabox or not. I know they are getting the movie, just not sure about the subs. |

Man, that would blow if there was no options for now. I'm inclined to see it anyway, as I've been anxiously anticipating another release from PCW for a long-ass time...but my K skills are intermediate, only. |

I think Cinus really needs to show different movies in each location. Since each theatre is only showing 1 film at a time, its good once, but then you have to wait like 3-4 weeks before they switch the films before you can go see another one. At least if they were each showing different films it'd give us the opportunity to go see 2 before they switched them up. |

I was just reading about this in a blog:
An Open Letter to Seoul Metropolitan Government
Quote: |
So no subtitles for one of the films that has been invited to the Cannes Film Festival 2009, no subtitles for possibly one of the big blockbuster hits of this year, no subtitles for one of the finest directors working in Korea. |
A government decision? Who pissed in their cornflakes? Or is that on their 'popcorn'? |
