um yeah so curious about the second weekend of mudfest...is it as much of a gong show as the first? I know it's supposed to rain all weekend again but wondering if they will still have everything set up etc and if it's as good as the first weekend...anyone know?
Surprised so many folks on here are not fans...though guess I wouldn't go either if I was worried about not being able to check the latest news on Dave's. I mean damn all the crazy waygook antics it's a wonder why it's in its eleventh year...

I did not read this thread based on the negativity in the first few posts.

My impression:

I had an amazing time. The weather was terrible, but I loved the event. What's not to like? Get covered in mud and drink beer all day (I was in no way obnoxiously drunk or disrespectful to anyone). I loved the fireworks at night. First time I've ever watched fireworks while floating in the ocean. The concert at night was great too. The finale was a really decent DJ set where I danced with hundreds of people having just as good a time as me.

Despite the booze everywhere, I saw no fights or broken glass. Just thousands of people enjoying the mud, the ocean and their friends.

Agreed. I had a great time too. Yes people were getting drunk, but did I see people being obnoxious? No, not really.

Tell that to my toe that got sliced up on the beach. I'm not complaining about anything, but just because you didn't see anything doesn't mean it didn't happen.

About obnoxious people... well it is almost the definition of drunk, which is fair enough because people wanna unwind at the weekend. However there is not really much excuse to be obnoxious at 9am on the train unless you are carrying around two bottles of soju and one happens to be empty.

The 18th and 19th were good days at Mud Fest. The winds were up on Sat, but the rain stayed away during they day. Not having the beach as crowded as usual was nice. The waves were super strong and fun, even if the lifeguards tried to keep us from swimming. Heavy rain on Sat. night, but then a wickedly beautiful day on Sunday with sun and calm waters.

The dj on both Saturdays was great despite the weather. I also saw no fights or bad behavior. I see worse in Hongdae outside FF and Go go's every weekend. Good times had by all.

did hear sad news that someone did drown on Saturday afternoon......4 went in.....3 came out........Sad........Crazy undertow.......they had the siren going all day to stay outta the water.

Yeah, I overheard a few paramedics talking about that soon after it happened. I haven't seen or heard anything about it on the news, though. Maybe they found him/her?

I was wading just above my knees on Saturday afternoon, got knocked on my ass and pulled out a bit. I'm a strong swimmer but I felt a rush of panic as I got tossed around.
