Does anyone know of a reputable place to get an STD check in Seoul? Thanks.

The doctor at the International Clinic in Itaewon does them, and the staff knows English.

BUT... keep in mind that they grossly overcharge!

tyco2:

You might want to try Seoul National University's International Clinic. It has a better reputation than the one in Itaewon - details are in this thread:

Good luck - think positive (or would that be negative..)

The girl in the photo is Jjang Nara -- the bug-eyed actress you see plastered on every other advertisment in Korea. Being a former TV producer helps you meet some interesting folks who know other interesting folks.

Unfortunately, she's NOT the reason I know about the International Clinic in Itaewon. *laugh*

That little piece of knowledge is thanks to my Korean co-worker who used me for 3 months and tossed me away.

I remember hearing via an e-mail group of folk in Korea about HIV tests...not sure if it is accurate, but I will tell you al the same...just be wary.
People said that while HIV tests may be anonymous for Koreans, they are not so for foreigners, and the details of that test may be passed onto the Ministry of Health, or whoever. Presumably, there is only an issue if the test is postive, in which you will be asked to leave the country within a specific period. I got one for a visa to stay in Russia for more than three months, and encountered no problems (at a local hospital)...though the nurses and oeven office staff mumbled my name and AIDS with little discretion!

If you want a FREE ANONYMOUS HIV test, they are available in the 2nd floor of the Yongsan Public Health Center.

The Yongsan Public Health Center is right next to the Yongsan Gu Chung (District Office).
