I want to take my scooter from Seoul to Bundang. Any idea how I can do this via non-highway roads that are legal for a scooter? My new boss thought I could take a road through Kangnam, but I don't know.
I'm about ready to throw the darn thing on a truck and have it hauled here. |

Don't do that! (the truck thing)
It's very easy. I did it a few months ago. All you've got to do is head east out of Itaewon (assuming it's at you old place) and cross the Hannam bridge. Go straight through Gangnam (your boss was right) and follow the signs for Route 3. (Blue oval with a "3" inside) It's at 80km/h road all the way to Bundang, and perfectly legal for scooters and motorcycles.
It's one of the few longer rides I've taken that I didn't have to pull out my atlas for to make sure I wasn't getting lost. There are signs all the way down Route 3 for Seongnam and Bundang. It's a piece of cake. |

Simple. After Yangjae, you keep going south, then take a right onto the secondary highway, through the tunnel, you'll end up between Moran and Yatap. I had a coworker that did it every day. |

I think driving East on Tehran-no, turn right at the Lotte World Hotel and then heading south past Karak shijang will get you to Sungnam/Bundang as well. There must be 3 or 4 good routes to take. |

Given that my scooter was near Hannam-Dong, I followed Walter's advice and got the scooter to Bundang in an hour in some really crappy weather.
Thanks again, all. |

Heh. Not a good day for riding today. I went from Ansan to Bundang today and was pretty well soaked by the time I got here. |

You put in some gas, put on your helmet and start the bike. Next drive to Bundang. Good luck. Hope this helps. |
