This is not another question about how much money you earn. This is about people who work for school - Haqwon, Universities, Colleges, etc. Please avoid talking about privates.

My Questions are about

How do you get paid? A wad of cash, into your bank account, chickens, children, lint?

Do you get a pay slip or receipt?

Is it constant? You get paid on the 18 of every month. So every month give or take a day depending on weekend or Holdiday you get you money on the 18th. Or is it always wait till next week, please?

Do you have to remind the school or do they remember?

What Deductions BESIDES the Usual have you experienced? Usual meaning TAX, Health, Housing, Bills. Unusual - plane ticket, recruiters fee, school wants money fee, breathing in air fee, etc

Have you every had confusion over pay? (besides being blatently cheated)
Such as you signed for 1.9 Million and yet they gave you 1.8 Million. And you forgot the Tax or you didn't for get the Tax.

Please avoid talking about how much you earn or about cheated Severeance. This is just about paychecks please.

Give me some stories and experiences about your pay check.

How do you get paid?

Bank transfer

Do you get a pay slip or receipt?

I did the first couple of months but after I got my bank account set up I stopped getting them.

Is it constant?

Yes

Do you have to remind the school or do they remember?

Once I had to remind my boss. Every teacher at my school has a different payday so I understand she forgot.

What Deductions BESIDES the Usual have you experienced?

None

Have you every had confusion over pay? (besides being blatently cheated)
Nope.

Depends on the school.
Payday at the first school was an event.
The teachers would line up outside of the office.
One by one we would go in.
The director would be sitting on the couch, lotus style, with his shoes off.
On one side would be a glass of whiskey and on the other would be a large pile of bills and cheques.
We would each be paid in cash.
Nothing like walking down the street witha couple of million in your pocket.

The second and third place was direct deposit.

The fourth place was cash in an envelope.

The fifth place, also known as evil KC hell, was a little bit of this and a little bit of that (depended on the month) and never on time.

The sixth place was similar to the first.

Currently I get paid in hugs and kisses and chewed up oranges by my son.
Best job so far.

How do you get paid?

Bank transfer

Do you get a pay slip or receipt?

I get a pay slip every month

Is it constant?

Yes

Do you have to remind the school or do they remember?

My school pays probably 200+ teachers on the same day every month, pretty sure they have never missed a pay in the 3.5yrs i've worked there.

What Deductions BESIDES the Usual have you experienced?

I get deducted for Fed/City income tax, pension, medical...also we can eat at my school, I get deducted for that.
Once I got deducted like 100k or something. I heard every teacher got that deducted for something to do with the ministry of education.

Have you every had confusion over pay? (besides being blatently cheated)
Yeah. My contract ends at a weird time and they have gotten confused on overtime payments. However it has been cleared up pretty fast the times that has happened. (Was more my supervisor not reporting my OT in time...not the admin's fault)

How do you get paid?
Electronic transfer to my account

Do you get a pay slip or receipt?
Yes, of course!

Is it constant?
Yes- but I get paid on the 5th. So if the 5th is a Sunday I get paid on the 4th. I am not sure why because its an electronic transfer and, as such, could be done on a Sunday.

Do you have to remind the school or do they remember?
I have never had to say a thing.

What Deductions BESIDES the Usual have you experienced?
None at all

Have you every had confusion over pay?
Not at my current job!

Yeah,
school #1 cause of the unique clauses in my contract which the director apparently didn't read.
School #2 Short on hours for a while, and they tried to only pay me for hours worked.
School #3 So far, so good (keeping fingers crossed though)
