Glad to see this thread is alive and well. I've been in Pohang since Nov 2009. This place isn't bursting at the seams with foreigners, so it would be nice to meet some fellow Westerners.

Hi

Just got here... where can we find decent night life, ie drink with people and communicate with them using more than just grunts and raised glasses? Road names or landmarks etc would be helpful.

Thanks guys and see you around...

Hey! I'm flying in at the end of June, and was hoping to already kinda know people when I got there.

Looking for fellow Westerners to share a beer with. Very Happy

Hey RachelA,

I'm a TaLK teacher in Pohang. I'd be happy to hook up with you for a drink or food or something. Let me know.

Hey Baron,

I'm going to work for a school called PAI. Know anything about it?
And thanks, I'm definitely going to take you up on that offer.

Yeah, I just got to Pohang on the 10th of April. Obviously I haven't had much time to explore, but I'm also the only foreign teacher at my school. Where do foreigners hang out? I'm in E-Dong so suggestions in that area would be much appreciated.

Looks like I will be landing in late July. Anyone going to be around for a round of drinks? Anyone want to warn me now about sudden Pohang surprises?

There's a newer Pohang somewhere on the forum. It's got some suggestions re: popular meeting places.

I am hearing a talk around town that there are a good number of hagwons that are in jeopardy of closing in Pohang due to a big drop in enrollment. Anyone else hearing this?
