Hey, I am going to Pusan in July and I was wondering if anyone over there does any mountain biking. I have run across a couple of sites in Seoul but I don't know anything about mountain biking in Pusan. I have been there before so I know the terrain is good.

So then what is the best way to get my bike over there. Carry it on or ship it over. I have heard that airlines will take the bike if it is in a special box. Where do I get one of these boxes?

i don't think it's a special box (although there are many new air travel rules) but as long as it's dimantled and fits inside a box which equals size of normal check in baggage specs (call the airline)> > >lots of nice mountian trails that you could ride on in busan though> > >

My friend disassembled his bike and boxed it, then re-assembled it when he got to Korea.

His bike was an alluminium (I can't spell alluminum) frame and was super light. Even the nuts, bolts, and gears were super light. The bike could not have been over 10 lbs.

this only applies if you're flying air canada. otherwise, disregard.

www.aircanada.com says bycicles are carried for free on international flights. you must remove the peddles and tape the front wheel all the way sideways.

i'm not sure if that's in addition to your two pieces of luggage or in place of one. check the site, if it's relevant to you.
