The two times that I've been there (I'm Canadian) the place has been filled with 80-90% Koreans... |

True. I was surprised that it wasn't just younger ones either. A lot of older Korean folks go for it as well. |

Just had a look at your user name...you shouldn't be criticizing anyone's food choices. |

What's wrong with noodles made out of shin bone?
Hell, half the trolls in this thread would tell you it tastes better than Taco Bell... |

Since the lines seem to be about 90% Korean are they talking about Taco Bell on Korean news sites? |

The guy who opened that place has got to be in heaven right now. Every time I go by there there are huge lines. Lunch time is ridiculous! And the line goes pretty quick, so they are serving a ton of people. And yeah, 90% Korean customers. |

Went to Taco Bell for the first time in my life, yesterday.
Review? Not bad! Quality may be a bit low, but it fulfilled me. I can see what you all mean. I could definitely go for some more... especially at that price. |

True, but I think most of the workers think it's anything but heaven. I wonder what the turnover is going to be there. Maybe they pay a bit better than other fast food places, but I wouldn't want to spend 8 hours in that kitchen!
Hopefully the owners are planning on opening a few (dozen or so ) more in the near future. |

1) food makes very small profits in general.
2) it's probably a license/franchise with corporate watching it close. it's just too expensive to start and requires vendors in korea ...unless they are secretly test marketing it and plan on opening up additional stores. if they are getting supplies from a taco bell franchise, they must have set one up, if that's the case, expect a bunch of taco bells in and around seoul
3) typical turn over in fast food in 300% |

Sounds like someone missed their calling! Maybe they're taking applications for store manager? |

I heard rumors that the agreement the owner had with Taco Bell was that he HAD to open 3 locations within 2 years.
Itaewon being location number 1, it would not surprise me if the other 2 locations where Hondae/Shinchon area, and the Gangnam area. I think with the Itaewon location being a success, the owner can open up in Gangnam and not worry too much about the high rent/lower profit margins.
I don't foresee Taco bell being a nationwide chain like KFC or McDonald's.
I do see Taco Bell being more successful than say Subway/Qiznos. It is important for the owner to do their market research and smartly open locations.
I think Seoul could handle 10 Taco Bell locations. Itaewon, Gangnam, CoEx, Times Square, City Hall, Konkuk University Station, Sinchon, Jamsil, Mokdong, and near Bundang.
I'll tell you one thing. If you had a Taco Place that delivered to your door, you would make a killing. Setup a minimum delivery order of 8,000w. Have things like Enchiladas, burritos, taco's, etc.. on the menu. |

In the food business it an apple (or cherry) turnover that is three times as large as the standard size. |

As long as they guaranteed that the chips and taco shells would still be crunchy - or the meal is free. |
