I have from January 17-Feb 4 off. I am going to Okinawa for a couple days, have friends there and want to see the World's largest Aquarium. After that, I'm not sure what I want. I can't decide if I want to just settle for Thailand where everyone and their mother will be, or If I want to try some far out place. I am even thinking Australia, but that will be expensive. I am looking for some suggestions and personal favorites. Don't like crowds and I'm trying not to spend more than 1.5 including travel. Beaches are good, Culture is a must, Good food is essential.
I am considering going to Europe also as the cold doesn't really bother me and I have never been there. SO conflicted!!! |

S. Asia or the Phillipines would be the cheapest.
Taipei is pretty cheap to fly to and the girls there are generally more friendly than their Korean counterparts. Take a ferry from Taiwan to the Phillipines.
Guam!? Saipan!? They'd be warm as well.
I'm saving Beijing or Shanghai when it's warmer.

OP, Aus will not fit into the budget you mentioned. My hubby and I nixed a home visit due to airfare prices. Plus, accom, food and other stuff are not cheap.
Thanks to airfare prices, we decided to check out Malaysia instead. |

I kind of actually have a sort of squeeze in Taichung, but she doesn't know if she'll be there (works in China) and I thought it might be cold |

If you buy the tickets by Saturday, you can fly to Manila for as little as 154,000 won roundtrip and enjoy other deals around the time you want to travel.

Since you're in Okinawa anyway, hop on a flight or ferry to the smaller islands with better beaches such as Ishigaki and Iriomote. |

How are you getting to Okinawa? My wife and I would love to go there. Where will you fly from and to? Or, are you taking the ferry over and then another ferry down to Okinawa? |
