Yes, I would like to know the same: How much does insurance cost and how long does it take?
I heard that it was really expensive to get a driver's license here..

Great post IlIlNine - really useful stuff. Thank you.
I've just today brought a bike (750) from a friend who is leaving Korea and am very keen to get some training under my belt. The above sounds great, but my Korean is not so - any idea if instruction is available in English, private or otherwise?
There is a course offered on the Yongsan base but for military personal only so am rather running out of options beyond just jumping onboard and teaching myself with guidance from friends.... which not exactly ideal for such a powerful bike. Whatever, it's going to be quite a step up from my Suzuki 125 scooter.
Thanks.

Corollary question - If I have a motorcycle endorsement on an American license, can I get that same endorsement on the Korean license on the trade-in? |

Another question:
Is a new, small-bike license now required for 125cc?
I keep hearing various reports on whether or not this is true. I've been driving the same 125 for three years now with only a car license and have received no reprimand or notice from either the dong in which my bike is registered or my insurance company.
I ask because I'm getting a new bike this weekend and worried that I'll find out I'm no longer legal. |

I guess I've answered my own question: In the last three days I bought, registered, insured and am driving a 125cc bike with no special smaller bike license. |
