Just curious if anyone's eaten there. I read the article about it in today's Herald and thought I'd give it a try.
Anyone with a review? |

Sorry ... it's in Itaewon, up that alley alongside KFC. As the name implies, it's an Indonesian restaurant. |

I went there on Saturday night for the first time... I definitely liked it. Had the peanut sauce satay combo set, as well the chicken noodles. My friend had some kind of spicy chicken (can't remember the name) that was blistering. Pretty good place. |

Food very edible, atmosphere a bit too bright for my tastes. |

Did you need a reservation for a Saturday night or could you just walk in? |

We just walked in - it was surprisingly empty. I tried to go last summer, but it was packed on a Saturday night. This time, we were there at around 8pm. I don't know if that made a difference...it was pretty empty in Seoul everwhere, though, as it was a long weekend. |

Kind of like Thai, without the subtle flavors, also alot like Indian without the strong flavors that dominate. Mostly like Malay, but that is a given that much of Indonesian culture is Malay in origin. Having said all that, my gf is here from Indo at the moment and I have no need to trek all the way to Itaewon for a feed of what I consider to be the best cuisine on earth. Nasi Goreng Istimewa for dinner last night and Rendang tonight, yumm.
Cheers

Shitty South East Asian food. Really there is a reason that it hasn't taken off all over the world. It's boring compared to Thai, Veitnam Indian... and not nearly as good.

Ignoramus! You musn't have sampled the delights of Minang or Padang food, scorchingly hot and mighty flavoursome. Plenty of Indonesian restraunts in my native Australia, where it has a small but dedicated following.
Cheers

In other words most people don't care for it.
Note for the future
When you call someone an 'Ignoramus' it would help your cause not to prove them correct in your own arguement.
